Today just put an end to a series of 4-week long that I didnt get to leave the office until midnight at the earliest, and getting home at 2-3am was not that unusual... I didnt even know how long I could sustain for that many hours, but at least the amazing team and the very interesting nature of the project gave me the stamina I needed to have... But i do feel exhausted after all.
Today, I also got this short speech forwarded by my friend, and it was like a wake-up call that I would need once in a while.
Quoted
The Shortest Speech by Bryan Dyson - Former CEO of Coca Cola...
Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. They are Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you are keeping all of these in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four Balls - Family, Healthy, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it."
Work efficiently dueing office hours and leave on time. Give the required time to your family, friends and have proper rest
Value has a value only if its value is valued.

2012 New Year Resolution
January 2, 2012
So, the new year just started. I usually take a moment on the 2nd day of the year to think of what is important for me to focus in the year ahead (you might wonder why 2nd day of the year... simply because the first day has always been way too busy with new year celebration, dinners, church, which all take away my focus).
Here are a few things that I set out as my new year resolution. For me, NYR doesnt mean they are the most important things for me in this year - these are things that do matter a lot, but I may tend to de-prioritize for many reasons. I wrote it here so I can remind myself once in a while as the year goes by. And i know it will go by so fast... The list goes in the order of priority for me:
1. Complete the few most important things for VietSeed in 2012: getting a co-founder on board with team, obtaining the legal status and launching the website.
2. Blog more - at least once a month. (this blog helps me hit the target for January, yayyyy!) - i know this is cheating, but oh well - as long as i hit my objective LOL
3. Exercise more - at least once a month. My roommate just laughed at me, and said I can do more than that... Trust me, once a month is already hard --- lets see how much I can do at the end of the year.
4. Learn how to play golf properly - I have always attempted, and have never fully invested. Why golf? just because it's a way of exercising (knowing how lazy I am with exercise, having this in my NYR will force me to exercise a bit more). And there's probably no where else better to play golf than the Bay Area - it's so pretty here.
5. Get back to my reading habits - since i started working, time has been flying by so fast, and I realized I havent read a single book in 3 months. Determined to re-prioritize this habit, hoping to read at least one book a month (and any book would count here, including Nicholas Spark lol)
These are all my NYR - it looks simple to a lot of us (what is difficult about achieving these... but i know I will have a hard time keeping up with these resolutions).
Wish me luck. And best of luck to all of us in our resolutiosn for the new year!
Happy 2012!
